Jersey-bred Adam Baumol began his music career on his fifth birthday, quickly figuring out his favorite tunes on his brand new Casio keyboard. After learning and performing on the clarinet, oboe, saxophone, guitar and piano, Adam discovered a true passion for all things percussion, specifically the drum set. He received his B.M. in Percussion Performance and his M.M. in Theory/Composition both from the University of Delaware under the masterful direction of Prof. Harvey Price and Dr. Jennifer Barker. At UD Adam was inducted into the prestigious Phi Kappa Lambda Music Honor society, and he was the recipient of the 2008 Composition Award. He was also given the opportunity to teach a number of classes on his own, creating syllabi and teaching up to 50 students in both large classes and private lessons.
Upon graduation, Adam relocated to New Orleans with the hopes of expanding and enriching his cultural and musical understanding. In his time in the crescent city Adam has worked on numerous musical projects, performing at local venues such as the Howlin' Wolf, Blue Nile, and the Maple Leaf among others. He has studied with local artists Ricky Sebastian, Doug Walsh and Seth Davis, and also spent time interning at Fudge Recording Studios.
Adam is currently gigging with two local bands (Gravy Flavored Kisses and Nasimiyu and the Many Moons), and is working with a former professor from Delaware on a Chinese pop crossover project called 6ixwire, for which he will be traveling to Shanghai in mid-October to perform at a nationally televised concert.
Adam is thoroughly looking forward to begin teaching through New Orleans Music Lessons.
